I feel now I have gained enough knowledge to offer pretty sound advice on the best ways to achieve noteworthy savings and for my first blog I want to share with you my top ten tips.
1. Cashback sites
To put it simply don't shop online without using cashback sites. They are all free to join and for virtually every purchase you make there is likely to be at least one cahsback site that will give you a percentage of your spending back. To not take advantage of cashback sites is like refusing free money and I cannot understand anyone who shops online without them.
Now there are quite a few to choose from but I personally think 3 of them stand head and shoulders above the rest. Why? Without beating around bush they are the most reliable and trustworthy sites that offer the best cashback deals available. I used them all the time and have racked up over £500 of cashback between the 3 of them.
The one I use the most is TopCashback which usually has the highest cashback offers and has already paid me over £100 with a further £200 pending.
The other 2 are Cashback Kings and
2. Discount Vouchers
On most online shops you will find on the checkout screen a field labelled 'Discount Code'. Don't ignore this field as more often than not a quick search of the web will turn up a code that can be entered into this field knocking money off the final price of your order. Good, reliable sites from which such codes can be obtained for free are WOW Voucher Codes and Voucher Codes
3. Printable Vouchers
There are quite a few places on the web where you can obtain printable vouchers for high street shops and restaurants, and you should consider visiting these sites before you go on any shopping trip or day out as it is quite likely you will find a suitable discount voucher that can cut the cost of your plans. One of the best sites I have found for printable discount vouchers is WOW Coupons, which is the sister site of WOW Voucher Codes.
4. Shop Around
This tip may sound obvious but I am amazed how often people go straight to sites they are already familiar with when making an online purchase. This is crazy given that one of the major advantages of online shopping is that shopping around for the best deals is effortless and involves no traipsing back and forth between stores. Also the choice of stores is far greater than what can be found at any shopping complex no matter how big. Online shopping is consumer power at its best and everyone should take full advantage. Forget brand loyalty or site familarity as these are just a marketing trap. What you want to be is an online brand tart who takes at least 30 minutes to scour the comparison sites - yes there are even sites that will compare the prices of a product across multiple sites at the click of a button - to ensure you are getting the best deal before making any online purchase. For example if I am buying console game online I will always visit Find Games to check which site offers the best price for that game. I use this site as it is specific to games and includes a vast selection of the game retailers out there, which means the cheapest price they find is more than likely to be the cheapest price out there. Anyway I can't emphasis this point enough of shopping around as this is really what online shopping is all about.
5. Cashback / Reward Cards
There a number of cards such as American Express and the Utility Warehouse club card that award the card holder with cashback or rewards when a purchase is made using that card from participating retailers and are definitely worth getting if you don’t mind using credit to shop with / paying a small monthly fee.
